Description:
This error message appear:

"We are sorry for the inconvenience but an unexpected exception has been raised by one of the MySQL Workbench modules. In order to fix this issue we would kindly ask you to file a bug report. You can do that by pressing the [Report Bug] button below."

while i try to create a "new server instance"; 

the first step (host machine) is ok; 
the second step (test db connection) is ok;
the third step in not ok (managment anh os); the error message appear.

Note: i use xampp.

What exact version of MySQL Workbench, 5.2.x, do you use? Do you have Windows service created for MySQL server in xampp?

I use the 5.2.31 CE (Revision 7115) version of Workbench;

I create a Windows service for MySQL server in xampp (.\xampp\mysql\mysql_installservice.bat) and everything is ok! Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback.

Verified as described: if there is no MySQL service, but MySQL server is up and running WB encounters error when tries to create new server instance.

Fixed in repository.

Note: WB only supports MySQL servers installed as service under Windows, so setting up XAMPP to use a MySQL service instead of a standalone server is not a work around but a necessary prerequisite.
