Description:
mysql workbench on windows 7 , connecting to latest mysql download (64bit)

was trying to set up the server admin. 

How to repeat:
install mysql server 5.5.8 (latest from 1/27/2011 ), don't install mysql as a service, but manual

install mysql workbench
connect to localhost for sql development (works) 
try to do server admin, import settings from localhost , failure
