Description:
.gitignore seems to have some obsolete entries. In particular, when merging from 5.7 to 8.0, the presence of include/my_global.h - which is present in 5.7 and gone in 8.0 - should be visible. Looking at that file, it also seems to have obviously outdated entries, i.e. BUILD/compile-pentium-maintainer, BitKeeper/* etc.
