Hi,
I'm trying to install the mySQL Connector ODBC on my Mac with OSX 10.8.5.

First of all (and this is very serious) there is no download for 10.8.5 on the download page. Its either one for 10.9 on the official download page (https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/) or one for 10.7 in the archived one (https://downloads.mysql.com/archives/c-odbc/).

Now what I tried:

Trying to install one for 10.9 from the official download page fails with the same error which was reportedly fixed in the bug https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=70422. It does not matter whether I get 32 or 64-bit version driver.

Trying to install one from the archived page for 10.7 succeeded for both 32 and 64-bit OSX (tried it without un-installing). However, trying to create "User DSN" for the UNICODE driver I'm getting the "iODBC Administrator quit unexpectedly" error.

So it looks like the driver is unusable for Mac OSX 10.8.5.

Please fix the download page adding the version for 10.8 and also resolve the issue with the install/crash for iODBC Administrator.

How to repeat:
Download the ODBC Connector and try to install it on OSX 10.8.5.

As explained above you either will get an error on the install or crash trying to create a DSN.

What about the first part - successful install but crash of the iODBC Admin? And the appropriate 10.8 download?

Thank you for the feedback. The issue is the same: failed to install and a link for this bug was provided in the original verified bug so the developer who will see it in the fix process. For older OS version need to wait to test the fix will be done in the verified bug.

Are you sure about this? Did you check it?
It provides the download for 1.6 and 1.7 only. No 1.8.

Now if you can send me the dmg file for 1.8 I would be able to test it.
It just you will need to send me the uninstall script as well. So that the version I have right now can be uninstalled.
Can you do that?

No, its not. There are 2 more issues at hand: no download and the crash.

Users are requested to upgrade to recent versions of OS X (10.9+). That was the decision of development team.

But you own previous comment said:

Well, it is not!!!
So it looks like you are starting to contradict yourself - you said that it will be available on the archive download page, and then you said it will not be available, because users advised to upgrade.

Please send me the version for 10.8 to test along with the un-installation script.
Because the archived download page does not containt the version for 10.8. Only for 10.6 and 10.7.

And for me paying 2-3 thousand dollars to buy a new Apple computer is painful. Please restore this download anywhere - either on the archived page or an actual one.

OK, but as I wrote before - you provide the build for 10.6, which is about 10 years older than 10.8, but not for 10.8.

I guess you have 20 years old Macs with 10.6 on it...

Then I will need to test it on real Linux.
