Description:
It looks like there is no documentation about how to add performance instrumentation to a plugin. After browsing trough the sourcecode it looks like one has to use the PSI interface which is used by performance_schema.

How to repeat:
Search docs for things like HAVE_PSI_INTERFACE

The PSI interface is used in storage/example/ha_example.cc

But the PSI interface is not explained in ha_example.cc or on https://dev.mysql.com/doc/internals/en/custom-engine.html
