This bug has actually been around since last summer (2012), thus preventing nearly all Mac users from using ODBC connections to MySQL for nearly a full year(!). Guess they all went somewhere else to find a proper driver (like to Actual Technologies ODBC_Pack).

So, what's up guys? Another 10 days have now passed. Are the rumors true, have you lost interest in Mac OS X? BTW: Other dbms, eg FileMaker, have now officially turned away from your ODBC driver and urge their customers to use a commercial solution from Actual Technologies instead. See here: http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6420 This is not really how the free MySQL Community Ed was intended to be used, whas it? Could we please get a functional ODBC driver any day soon?

The problem you report is actually 2 separate problems. Rulle, As for "Wrong Architecture" in iodbc dm - may that be that you were trying to use 64bit driver, and isql gui is 32bit only. Atm we do not release shared objects containing all architectures. As for dmg failure - in fact mysql does not support Mac OS 10.8 yet. But looks like the problem is present in 10.7 as well. We will work on the problem. Btw if i am not mistaken dmg manages to install driver library to designated location before it fails. Of course this does not mean we don't have to fix the issue, but at least installer is half functional. Thank you for your report once again!

I am also stumped in trying to install this. When could we expect to see a resolution?

Hi, We've been waiting for about 8 months for this bug fix and was wondering if there was an ETA on it? Thanks, -Hamlet

Yes; please get updated Mac OS X 10.8 and 10.9 support out so we can start using MySQL with our Mac OS X systems. If it helps, I'm happy to do some beta testing and even some debugging (if I have some source of the work in progress for this, I might even be able to send you some patches to look over).

This is a duplicate of bug 70422. The patch for the bug has been pushed into the source repository today. It should be included into the new version of Connector/ODBC 5.2 which is going to be released soon.
