Description:
I have installed the latest version .deb and I can't open it.

It starts with the splash screen but nothing happens and my notebook gets really slow and I have to "xkill" the process.

I have already uninstalled and installed again, same results.

Is there a way to find more information about it to help?

How to repeat:
Just install the latest version (5.2.35) on Ubuntu 11.10 and try to open it. It will load forever.

After waiting several minutes it opened but there are two windows for it, the splash and the system itself and my notebook is really slow.

Not repeatable on Ubuntu 10.04.

Ubuntu 11.x ships with a new desktop/windows manager named UNITY (replaces GNOME as the default desktop in Ubuntu).

So if this problem happens in the "user interface layer" of WB, I don't think testing on Ubuntu 10.x would necessarily reproduce the problem.

I have seen similar reports with Ubuntu 11.x/UNITY.

I get that too,

I've found that if I quit Workbench from the Unity Launcher, the splash screen disappears and then I can see the workbench window.

Hope this helps

I'm using an NVIDIA card and Xinerama and seeing XRANDR isn't loaded if
I try and start mysql-workbench from a prompt which may be relevant or
not.

If I start MySQL Workbench from the Dash Home (Unity Launcher?)
The splash screen shows and just hangs,
I need to quit MySQL Workbench from the Launcher for the workbench
window to show.
