I have the same problem with mysql-installer-5.5.19.0.msi on Windows 7 Pro (64bit). It's quite irritating.

This has been fixed as of the soon-to-be-released Workbench 5.2.41, and here's the changelog entry: In the SQL Editor, the cursor would inappropriately flash. This was fixed while moving to the native Scintilla control.

Possible workaround: Disabling mouse pointer shadows resolved this for me.

Happens to me too on version 5.2.47 CE. The workaround suggested by Paul Spadaccini doesn't work for me.

Still a bug on v6.0.7.11215 Windows 7. Also a bug on previous v6 releases. I have tried multiple versions and it seems it was never fixed.
