Description:
This driver isn't working correctly, we need to resort back to older versions of the ODBC driver in order to connect with it.

Normally when you install the driver you get a MySQL Connection screen to enter the parameters in. I'm getting the Key/Value screen instead. Usually that means you've installed the wrong driver, but unfortunately in this case I think it is actually the driver.

How to repeat:
-Find an Intel Mac with 10.6 32-bit or 64-bit.
-Install 10.6 version of MySQL Administrator.
-Install MySQL ODBC 5.1.7 driver for x86 10.6.
-Go into MySQL Administrator and try to set up a new User DSN.
-Instead of the MySQL Connection screen you will get the Key/Value screen which indicates it's inability to function.

Suggested fix:
Not sure, I'll attach screenshots. The 5.1.7 driver for 10.5 actually seems to be working on 10.6 systems. We are using that for now.

Just another comment about those uploads. As indicated in bug57542_odbc_driver_broken.jpg, the connection WAS working with the 10.5 version of the driver installed. After we installed the 10.6 version of the driver it was no longer able to connect, and the edit DSN screen shows up improperly.

We are using an employee's Mac running 10.6 with 64-bit extensions set to NO. The 5.1.7 10.5 driver and the 5.1.6 10.5 driver both seem to work fine. Many clients are having the same problem with their 10.6 Macs. Thank you.

I'm continuing to run into people having problems with the 10.6 ODBC driver. Has anyone had a chance to look into this? Thanks.

I suspect the reason here is rather trivial - we don't release GUI setup lib for 10.6, but for 10.5 we do.

I'm not a mac user, thus I'm not 100% sure that is so. But explanation looks quite logical for me.

As for reasons why we don't release gui bits for 10.6 - there are build issues on 10.6 with Qt lib we use for our setup lib.

The 10.6 ODBC driver is non-functioning until it gets built right. Clients are getting pretty frustrated about this.

Verified using MacOS X 10.6 and MySQL Connector/ODBC 5.1.8, there is indeed just the Key/Value in the Apple's ODBC Administrator configuration screen, and not a fancy form which makes it easier to enter data.
It is, however, functional.

I have never been able to connect to a MySQL Server installation using the Key/Value screen. Is there documentation somewhere on how to do this?

Have you had any luck porting the "fancy" ODBC screen to 10.6? A lot of people would appreciate it if you could. 5.1.8 still shows the Key-Value screen.

This is still broken.
No love for mac?
