Many thanks for writing a feature request. You can get scheduled backup in MySQL enterprise Monitor which is avaiable with MySQL Enterprise.

This is bad. There was a comfortable tool like MySQL Adminnistrator which is no longer supported and users are encouraged to upgrade (?) to MySQL Workbench which not only turns out to be less mature but important features like scheduled backup and backing up in a transaction will no longer be supported. Instead it's suggested to buy the enterprise tool. This does not look like a commitment to OpenSource and community driven development.

Susanne, Please note that scheduling and running backups is not a feature available in the current release of the MySQL Enterprise Monitor. It may be considered for a future release, but we can make no promises about if or when.

if this feature not in Mysql Enterprise monitor, than this feature should be include in Mysql Workbench. The reason is, Mysql Workbench is intended to be a successor of Mysql Administrator
