Upon further investigation I found that the crash and data loss are not related. During further analysis, the following demonstrates two separate issues: (1) open workbench and create new drawing. (2) Create diagram (3) On diagram create new text object to design TITLEBLOCK for the diagram (to be used in project manual). (4) Save drawing and verify save by message in status bar. (5) Close application. (6) Re-open application and drawing. (7) navigate to the diagram created in step 2-3. (8) Observe that text object does not appear. From this experience I am inclined to believe the software is not saving text objects.

Sam, one part (crash) could be what's described in Bug#48520. Let me see for text objects.

Sam, can't get TEXT object to disappear... Could be my diagram is too simple (just a few objects) but still. My environment: Win7 Ultimate in VBox 3.0.12 with WB 5.2.8 Can you please try recreating issue with latest version of WB?
