Description:
When i try to save as the mwb file in windows it just hangs.
This happens even when i export the file.

How to repeat:
Open a mwb file that was created using 5.0 version of mysql workbench.
Try to save it as a different file.
Try to export it to a png file.

Suggested fix:
Save as should not hang and exporting to png file should work like it did in 5.0 version of mysql work bench.

Thank you for the problem report. Please, upload the problematic .mwb file. I can not repeat this with my files crated in WB 5.0.30 on Windows XP.

This is happening for me too. Save as, open, export - all hang. Seems like whenever a file browser dialog tries to open, Workbench hangs.

I'm on XP SP3, using 5.1.16. Also crashes on latest 5.2 alpha. I'd like to know where I can download the version I was using - whatever was before 5.1.16, cause that worked fine for me.

Thanks for your reply. I cant upload the mdb file due to proprietary issues. I am using Windows Xp, service pack 3. As Chris has mentioned this happens only when the workbench tries to open file browser dialog even for me. The file dialog never comes and the process is shown as not responding in the task manager.

I went back to using the old version 5.0.30 and it works fine in that.

However i had made some changes to the mdb file in 5.1.16 and when i went back to using 5.0.30 the file didnt open. So would love if there was backward compatibility feature as well.

Bug #46068 was marked as a duplicate of this one.

Unfortunately, I am not able to repeat this.

Development help is needed here.

After talking with development this problems seems to be a bug in Microsoft SP3.

According to bug #45947 Microsoft patches from July 2009 for SP3 will solve this problem here.

The problem still persists for me. Anytime a file dialog needs to open: Open, Save As, Export, etc. Program hangs indefinitely - MySQL Workbench OSS 5.1.18.

I'm using XP SP3, and have installed all updates from Microsoft current as of today. I'm still restricted to using 5.0.3, which doesn't have the bug.

This appears to be a solidly replicable fault using 5.1.18 OSS, Revision 4456 under Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition with Service Pack 2.  Any operation requiring a file selection dialog appears to hang.
