Description:

Is the optimisation is depend on the merge table size ?
because I use 1-2 table than the optimiser use the indexes well
but I use 3-...50 table inside merge than the index of the merge table is disabled (not founded)

If I use about 5 merged tables only with some rows than the optimiser works well.

(all the merged tables are the same with the same indexes)

Upload your compressed tables to ftp://support.mysql.com/pub/mysql/secret with some name like bug3218, and provide the queries you are using.  We will test then to see if you are experiencing some bug.
