Description:
Hello,

Long ago it was identified that MySQL server does not install on 64-bit windows versions, due to a fault in the configuration wizzard (bug #18220)

This is a very, very anoying bug which can only be bypassed by experts. But since it can be bypassed it has been given priority 3.

However, since nobody seems to be working on it, and the bug is even still present in release 5.12. IMHO the priority needs to be raised.

Thanks,

Louis

How to repeat:
Very easy every fresh server installation goes wrong

Suggested fix:
Recompile witch the correct options and library references

Thank you for a problem report. Do you mean version 5.1.12, http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MySQL-5.1/mysql-5.1.12-beta-winx64.zip?

I mean all x64 versions including the latest beta

Duplicate of bug #18220. I'll try to escalate that bug.
