Description:
I define an ODBC DNS to a MySQL 5.0.26 database. When I attempt connect to the database with this DNS from PowerBuilder 9 or 6 or Excel I obtain: "An error ocurred, yet no message was returned by the database driver." or (in excel) "ODBC General Error" and "Impossible read this file."

How to repeat:
Define a DNS in ODBC with MySQL Connector ODBC 5.00.06 and try to obtain data of database from Excel.

Jorge - If you have a chance, can you please create an ODBC trace file by enabling tracing in the ODBC administrator before you run either of your applications? This would help alot in diagnosing the problem.

Jess: I downloaded the new version 5.00.07 and the error has changed. When I intent retrieve data with excel (via MS Query), now the driver show the tables (only when I select the option "System tables"), but it say: "1054 Unknown column 'table_0' in 'field list'".
I attach the log file.

Hi Jorge. Fixed in 5.00.09.
Environment:
  MySQL server 5.0.27BK on Win XP Pro SP2 localhost
  MySQL connector/ODBC 5.00.09
  MS Excel 2003
