Description:
So I installed the GUI tools after finding out about Workbench and was excited to try it out for designing a new DB that I need to use. Much to my dismay none of the features work at all. I started with release 4. A lot of menu options are grayed out, options being one of them, it defaults to a latin character set for new tables, if I create a new schema, I can't rename it, I can't edit it, I create new tables in it, they all end up going under the test schema. So I found this to be quite annoying and found in your forums that others had this trouble, but hadn't with earlier releases, so I tried release 3, same problems. Release 2, same trouble. Release 1, same old crap. I realize this is really about 20 bugs at once, but hey, if your gonna release something that basically won't let me do anything I want to do, I'll send you a bug report telling you everything you need to fix, or address in the forums. I like your DB but my attempt at using this has me tempted to try something else considering from what I see in the forums no one has received any help what so ever in solving these issues.

How to repeat:
Install your software on a machine running windows XP with all most recent updates and the most recent version of the java jre and look at the menus, try to drop the test schema, make a new schema, try to add a table to that... UGH

Suggested fix:
Make it work properly

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same. Because of this, we hope you add your comments to the original bug instead.

Thank you for your interest in MySQL.

I tried to devide your report to significant descriptions of problems and found them duplicate bug #22945 ("create new tables in it, they all end up going under the test schema") and bug #20268 ("I create a new schema, I can't rename it, I can't edit it").

If you think your bug report contains other information I missed, please, open separate bug report for each problem.
