Description:
When running mysql-client-test against an external server, several tests will fail, if sql_mode is set.

E.g. when running server with sql_mode="ANSI_QUOTES" test_stmt_close fails.

Suggested fix:
Unset sql_mode after mysql_real_connect.

Verified as described on Linux using last BK sources and server running on the same machine:

Have tried all possible values of SQL_MODE (present in the 5.1 ref man). Will backport to 5.0 when reviewed and the merge from there to 5.1 and 6.0
