Hi,

When I connect to Mysql for the first time, and execute the query (even the basic query example select @@version), it is taking more than 30 minutes or so to produce the output. Once the first successful execution is completed, the subsequents executions are much faster.

We are using VPN to establish the database connectivity.
Then connecting to mysql workbench.
execting select @@Version
to produce results it takes more than 30 minutes.
Subsequent sql's are executing much fast.

Thank you for the bug report.
To investigate further this issue at our end, may I kindly request you to launch workbench under debug mode (--log-level=debug3) and provide unaltered workbench log file(more details about log are explained here - https://dev.mysql.com/doc/workbench/en/workbench-reporting-bugs.html)? Thanks.

Iam trying to connect mysqlworkbench client to mysqlserver which is mounted on linux, for the first time it takes time to connect and execute 1st query.

Also i tried -log-level=debug3 it just opens query to execute and kindly throw more information as how to check too.

I could not find the log file. Kindly use "Files" tab to attach any files.
Imho this is duplicate of Bug #96949, please see Bug #96949 and follow the suggested workaround. Thanks.

Hi,

I have gone through the tread. There is no where solution provided. More over many people raised concern about this issue. MySQL team instead of providing solution marked as duplicate issue. You are refering to the thread releated to this issue but I am not pleased with the solution.

I am having the same issue with the first query taking a long time before running.  It does not appear to be related to history as I am on a newer laptop with limited history and the issue still occurs after using "Delete All Logs".
I am only seeing this issue with MySQL Workbench (version 8.0.27 build 1228725 CE 64 bit).  I have a similar connection with Toad and there is no delay in running the query.

I have this as well where the first query after opening a connection takes minutes and then subsequent queries start executing immediately.  There is a blue spinning circle icon on the file tab from where I'm executing the query, but the "Stop the query being executed" button is not active.  So it seems it's not the query itself that is running but something else with the program. I'm also on a fresh install of MySQL Workbench after uninstalling an older version.
