Description:
I use mysql-installer-web-community-5.7.14.0.msi to install some MySQL packages:
MySQL Server 5.7
MySQL Notifier 1.1.6
MySQL Workbench 6.3 CE
MySQL Connector Net 6.9.9
MySQL Utilities
All 32bit versions.

Installation ends successfully.

After that, when I go to "All Programs \ MySQL \ MySQL Installer - Community \" and run "MySQL Installer - Community", the installer app starts but at splash screen, at "Finding all installed packages" it throws error message:

Internal error. (There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706D9)) The installer will now close.

Then closes.
Happens every time.

I am not able to change the installation (uninstall \ reinstall or install any parts) because of this.

How to repeat:
1. Run Installer web Community (5.7.14.0) to completion.
2. Run installed "MySQL Installer - Community" app.

Hello Jan Halfar,

Thank you for the bug report.
I tried to reproduce the issue at my end using mysql-installer-web-community-5.7.14.0.msi but not seeing any issue with startup screen.
Could you please provide step by step (exact screenshot, stack trace etc. - please make it as private if you prefer) to confirm this issue at our end?

Thanks,
Chiranjeevi.

Hello,
I'll be glad to provide more details but you have to help me a bit.

* I added a screenshot of the error happening.

* Stack trace: Where / how to get it ?

* Details:
I'm afraid I don't really have any more steps to add to my original description.

Few more details for the installation:
    * I installed the package(s) to non-standard install location (D:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\ instead of standard C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\) with non-standard data dir location (D:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.7\Data\).

I did have a problem with that later, being unable to start Server instance (mysqld.exe), because it disregarded a data dir location I choose during msi installation, trying to find a datadir at "D:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.7\data\" and failing because that directory doesn't (and shouldn't) exist.

    * I didn't install the Server as a service (unchecking that option during original install).

Hello Jan Halfar,

Thank you for your feedback.
It seems you have installed in non existing directory. could you please uninstall or remove existing one and try to install in right path.

Thanks,
Chiranjeevi.

add "It seems you have installed in non existing directory"
- I set the original installation to install into "D:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\" - with data directory into "D:\ProgramData\MySQL\"

- The installation completed >successfuly<
- Both directories were created by the installation (as is expected) without a problem
- Files for MySQL Server and all tools were installed to "D:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\". "D:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.7\", "D:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\MySQL Workbench 6.3 CE\", etc respectively.
I can see that the files are located in those directories.

With the above, I don't understand what you mean by "installed in non existing directory". Can you please elaborate ?

Add "could you please uninstall or remove existing one and try to install in right path"
As I stated in my original description I can't uninstall the current installation, because the "MySQL Installer - Community" app fails at launch so I can't access it's functions.
Is there another way to uninstall the whole package ?

Hello Jan Halfar,

Thank you for your feedback.
Please go through the Bug #71329, it will help you to completely uninstall MySQL.

Thanks,
Chiranjeevi.
