Description:
After installing MySQL Essentials on Winxp, I get the following error message everytime I bootup: CoCreateInstance Error.  How do I fix this?  Victor

How to repeat:
Error is repeated at every bootup of the computer.

Thanks for reporting. Could you check the Server version you installed? If it was 4.1.8 it is very likely that you suffer from the incorrect-environment-path problem this version had. Please see http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=7710 for details.

It was fixed in 4.1.9.

Could you verify if correcting the path and installing 4.1.9 helps to get your system back to normal? Thanks a lot.
