When I  try to look at data in a table in mysql, it just keeps on loading, doesn't show any data or doesn't even let me close the tab. I have to force quit

This is most likely duplicate of Bug #82951, Please check the workaround(set SSH keepalive(default is disabled)  to 30 sec or 60 sec) mentioned in Bug #82951 will helps you.
