Description:
Latest update to MySQL Installer (8/20/15) failed with the following error: "Internal error. (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.) The installer will now close."

Every time I attempt to run the installer since the latest update, I receive this message.

How to repeat:
Allow Installer to update. Open Installer and the application will error.

This error happens after having to do a manual install of a update file, due to the problem of running a MSIExec command with a filename with spaces in it - it should have been put in double quotes. I took the file, renamed it to x.msi and then ran it from Explorer.

You get the problem happening immediately afterwards.

As you cannot use the installer to fix itself, the fix will require running a command outside the installer.
