We're still trying to sort out the problem. Did you have a version of Connector/Net installed prior? What OS is this? VS2005 installed?

VS2005 installed? ------------------------ No, this is in fact a quite fresh installment of Vista (Ultimate), so no prior Connector/Net installation was ever on this system. VS2005 is also not on this one, but in my office i got all three (2k3, 2k5 and 2k8) installed. On my office box i had 5.1.x installed first, which worked fine on 2k3 and 2k5, but of course didn't have any support for 2k8. Then i removed 5.1 and put on 5.2, finding 2k5 still working, but 2k8 giving me that error.

I have the same problem. My config is : Win XP Pro SP2 (french) Wisual Studio 2005 Pro (english) Wisual Studio 2008 Pro (english) mysql-connector-net-5.2.0.zip During the installation VS 2008 was running. Then i tried to unistall it and re install it when the VS 2008 was closed I allways have the same error

A note has been added to the 5.2.1 changelog: The installer would fail to the DDEX provider binary if the Visual Studio 2005 component was not selected. The result would lead to Connector/NET not loading properly when using the interface to a MySQL server within Visual Studio

This bug still happens for me -- even with version 5.2.4 Tried on new computer with fresh install of vs2008 and mysql 5.0 and connector 5.2.4 When I tried to connect to database --> 'Package Load Failure' ...

Hi, i have the same problem with MySQL connector/net 5.2.4 with installer mi config is... windows vista premium (eng) visual studio 2008 pro(eng) MySql Server 5.0.67 win 32 when i tried to create a add new data source, then choose Database, then New Connection, the followin error appear: Package 'MySql.Data.VisualStudio.MySqlDataProviderPackage,MySql.VisualStudio, Version=5.2.4, Culture=neutrak, PublicKeyToken=null' has failed to load properly (GUID=79A115C9-B133-4891-9E7B-242509DAD272) do you have a solution? thanks
Description: When trying to add a Data Connection in Server Explorer, the following error occurs: --------------------------- Package Load Failure Package 'MySQL Connector Net 5.2.0' has failed to load properly ( GUID = {79A115C9-B133-4891-9E7B-242509DAD272} ). Please contact package vendor for assistance. Application restart is recommended, due to possible environment corruption. Would you like to disable loading this package in the future? You may use 'devenv /resetskippkgs' to re-enable package loading. --------------------------- How to repeat: Open Visual Studio 2008 (any version) View -> Server Explorer Rightclick on the "Data Connections" node and choose "Add connection..." The error will then appear.
