Description:
Hello,

trying to use Openoffice, and to connect to msql server via odbc
(in hope to get red of access)

i have a slight problem
on the mysql server (provider) the database name is "domainname.fr"
and tables are named like "contacts"

but when i connect with open office via myodbc
for some reasons it split the name into
domainname
and
fr.contacts

and then mentioned cant find the filed of the base (in the table)

it seems that the server doesnt like the split as it must expect the name "contacts" only

can yu help or advice me where to find help
Tks very much
an amateur in Paris
best regards

How to repeat:
open un text file in openoffice
in the menu tools - data source
create de connection to the source, mysql server
then in the menu View - data source
the window split and show the database connexion
try to open a table

and error appends!

Thank you everybody for your help
it gives courage
finally the problem was, or still is,
my pc is connected to a linux server, i am end user win XP, and apparently windows create 2 profiles, so the problem was that i might have install te mysqlodbc under one profile, and use the database through the other one...

How did i get to this solution, well, i squat the pc of a collegue and start from scratch, and carrefully done everything on the same profile and it works

best regards
William
