Description:
Hi, I have recently upgraded my MySQL to 8. I have a web application which is in PHP and as PHP is unable to use "caching_sha2_password" to connect MySQL so I have created a user with msql_native_password.

My application is working fine but issue is I am not able to connect with that user using the command line.

How to repeat:
Create mysql user with mysql_native_password
Try to connect using command
mysql -uUSER -pPASSWORD DATABASE_NAME -A

hi!

PHP 7.4 seems to support caching_sha2_password:

By the way, what platform and PHP version are you using?
