I don't have iODBC installed, but I will try it. If that is a pre-requisite, seems it should be specified in the download page.

After installing iODBC, the installation of the ODBC connector succeeded. Thank you!
Description: Used the installer: mysql-connector-odbc-8.0.17-macos10.14-x86-64bit.dmg (mysql-connector-odbc-8.0.17-macos10.14-x86-64bit.pkg). MD5 checks out OK. At the last stage of installation ("Summary") it reports: ! The installation failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. Bugs database didn't show any related problems. Running on a Mac Pro with 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, and Memory of 64 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 RAM. MySQL version 8.0.16. XTools (with command-line tools) installed.
