Description:
downloaded recent version of MySql cannot run it without USER NAME and PASSWORD I thought that default was root root?? how to upload a file??
(1) I have a 64 bit linux mint  sylvia cinnamon OS.
(2) I can NOT use the MySql program work because can not get the PASSWORD nor the USER name (I thought that thedefualt was root and root ??)
(I tried using GRUB addin "rw init=/bin/bash which did not work!!) I velieve any and all ideas in your documentation FAILED TO WORK???
(3) this is what I use to download the system:
sudo apt-get remove --purge mysql*
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get install mysql-server mysql-client

echo "PAUSE at END---- read dummy to pause while reading terminal output"
read dummy
(4) this is the system that I get:
 mysql -?
mysql  Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.27, for Linux (x86_64) using  EditLine wrapper

I have repeatedly deleted and reloaded the files...
