Description:
I can't import data using DTS from MS SQL Server because all lengths of char and varchar columns are returned as -1 by MyODBC.  (Error is "data overrun")

This problem has been around for a long time and has been reproduced (see bug reports 996 and 6452).  It is time it should be fixed.

How to repeat:
Use MS-SQL Server's DTS to export a table containing char or varchar columns.

in the latest released version of that product, which you can download at 
http://www.mysql.com/downloads/

This bug has been fixed in the Connector/ODBC v.3.51.12
