Hi there.
I haved just upgrade from version 4.0.24 (Not sure) > 4.1.10a Current (I thing)

Afterwas all this queries like:
  SELECT VERSION()
  SHOW VARIABLES
  SHOW STATUS
  SHOW PROCESSLIST
  SHOW DATABASES
  SELECT * FROM 'TABLE'
  SHOW FIELDS FROM 'TABLE'

Hangs, or have logn result time.
What is wrong, is it something on my system?

Does it hang with an executable provided by MySQL AB?
Also, have a look at the server log, and read the manual on upgrading from 4.0 to 4.1.
