Thank you for the bug report. WorkBench is a tool tested only for MySQL Oracle server then your server version isn't supported, 8.0.XX version had removed the support for version <= 5.5.XX server.

I had previously said that we were running MemSQL 5.5.58 but this is incorrect. We have a 6.5 instance that is reporting itself as a 5.5.58 instance as per https://docs.memsql.com/introduction/latest/memsql-faq/#why-do-i-see-the-memsql-version-as... Original bug report below: Upgraded from MySQL Workbench 6.3.10 to 8.0.14 and now I cannot connect to MemSQL with error titled "Cannot Connect to Database Server". Downgrading to 6.3.10 and using the exact same connection allows MySQL Workbench to connect to MemSQL How to repeat: 1. Have a MemSQL 6.5 instance. 2. Use MySQL Workbench 8.0.14 to try to connect to the MemSQL instance Expected Results: -MySQL Workbench successfully connects to the MemSQL instance Actual Results: -"Cannot Connect to Database Server" error.

What I meant MemSQL instance isn't supported.
