Description:
Installing on my system, I get an error message :

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error 
 installing his package. This may indicate an error with
 this package. The error code is 2908

followed by another error :

An error occured during the installation of assembly 
'MySql.Data,Version="1.0.4.20163",Culture="neutral",
PublicKeyToken="C5687FC88969C44D".Please Refer to 
Help and support for more information. HRESULT:
0x8002802F.

How to repeat:
Simply install the package for typical installation.
I have no .net programming language installed yet (clean system windows XP sp2 + latest MS security updates)

Suggested fix:
Installable version without problems.

I was able to install on my XP sp2 box without any problem.
Maybe it is a particular issue in your environment the work-around
is to use the no-installer package.

I have installed the dutch language MS 1.1 .net framework through windows update. After that, the installation works fine using the custom installation with all options on.
