Posted by developer: Apologies for not sorting this bug earlier. The text log shows that iODBC driver manager cannot be loaded. Most likely it is not installed in the system. Some time ago OSX had the default ODBC Driver Manager, but now it has to be installed separately. The most popular is iODBC. The dmg package can be downloaded from http://www.iodbc.org/dataspace/doc/iodbc/wiki/iodbcWiki/Downloads We tried the current version of MySQL ODBC 8.0.18 in Mojave and it worked. Attaching the screenshot. Then the bug will be closed as "Cannot repeat" because the current release version does not have problems with Mojave.

Thanks a lot for the answer. I found the answer at the bottom of the blog. Download the driver from http://www.iodbc.org/dataspace/doc/iodbc/wiki/iodbcWiki/Downloads
