Description:
Hi,

one of the replication features that I often would like to use is limiting the disk space used by relay logs on slaves. There is a system variable for that - relay_log_space_limit - but changing the value of this variable needs a MySQL restart (this variable is not dynamic).

It would be much more convenient if this variable could be updated without needing a MySQL restart. Please make relay_log_space_limit dynamic.

Note: this feature request is not new. It is mentioned in a comment (from March 13, 2012) on Bug#35611 (from 2008). It is also mentioned in the description of Bug#68236 (from 2013). However and to my knowledge, there is no feature request opened explicitly for requesting to make relay_log_space_limit dynamic. This is why I am opening this now.

Many thanks for working on this,

JFG

How to repeat:
This is not a bug, but a feature request, so no way to repeat.
