The user notes that http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/create-view.html does not explain what the options [ALGORITHM = {UNDEFINED | MERGE | TEMPTABLE}] do, and what the default behaviour is.

documentation. The updated documentation will appear on our website
shortly, and will be included in the next release of the relevant
