I downloaded from a different mirror (http rather than ftp) and it worked fine. The mirror that had the apparently bad download was Corvalis. When I first attempted to install I rebooted my machine after the first hang. Then I attempted two more times. Maybe the real solution is for me to get away from Windows?? Sorry for the hassles. I don't change my comments regarding Wise Installer, though it, perhaps was not the issue here. Cheers
