Description:
I click on "Localhost" to connect to my local db.  Works fine usually, then all of the sudden I get an error:

External Component has thrown an exception

How to repeat:
Open application
Click a connection
When it opens error occurs.

Also, it will not show the name of the db in the tab label.

Also I cannot connect to any other database after this happens.  I must shut down the app restart it and click on the database I want next.

There is literally no information besides what I have give to you to report.

Suggested fix:
In the past I had to completely uninstall remove any data in APPDATA folder by hand. Then reinstall.  The issue will go away for a period of time.  But eventually comes back!

The error will occur when I attempt to make any connection.  It will still connect, but I cannot make any other connection without restarting application

I could not repeat the issue at our end using with MySQL workbench 6.3.10 version with MySQL 5.7.21 and 5.6.39 versions.
