Description:
After installing MySQL 5.7.21, the Preference Pane on Mac OS X fails to load, and gives an error, on Mac OS X 10.13.2

I have seen several people on the net discussing this problem.

How to repeat:
Install MySQL 5.7.21 from the supplied dmg.
Open System Preferences, click on MySQL preference pane.
An Error dialog is shown.

THIS IS NOT A DUPLICATE. This is new in 5.7.21- it worked in 5.7.20 apparently. This is a new bug.

When clicking the MySQL icon in System Preferences on the latest Mac OS High Sierra (10.13.2), I get an error:  Could not load MySQL preference pane.
Elsewhere on the web someone said the contents of 
/Library/PreferencePanes/MySQL.prefPane is much smaller.

I see the following.  It looks like the MacOS subdirectory is missing completely

Yes, this was seen in 5.7.21, 5.6.39(updated base bug affected versions).
Even if you feel that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely to be the same. Because of this, we hope you add your comments to the original bug instead.

Agreed this is a new bug. It worked fine for me in 5.7.20

For anyone watching this duplicate, we've replaced the DMG packages on our download site with ones that should contain a working preference pane.

I can confirm that the more recently uploaded DMG package now has a correctly working preference pane.

Just tried to get 5.7.24 going, and the Preference pane comes up, but it does nothing.
