Hello! Thank you for the report and feedback! Imho synopsis has maxlength set for 80 chars and which is more than enough. I'm passing on your request/feedback to the team for now. Thanks, Umesh

Hi, There is RFC5322 (see Line Length Limits, https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5322#section-2.1.1) which explains why 80 chars is good enough for Synopsis field. I doubt whether increasing it makes sense. /v

> which explains why 80 chars is good enough for Synopsis field No it doesn't. That's a limit on an arbitrary unit called a "line" of text. Who says the title of an issue must fit in a "line"? The question here is whether or not 80 characters are enough to concisely define what an issue is about. If it is not, and a reasonable size doesn't fit a "line", then make it two "lines". Half of the times I have reported an issue in MySQL I have struggled to make the title fit in the 80 characters, often having to leave out essential information making the title unclear.
