Thank you for the bug report. I have not problems to install 5.7.19 on macOS High Sierra (I attached step by step screenshots for the install process).

Thanks very much for the quick response and all of the details. I had done everything you sent except for the last page. I started a terminal window and attempted to start mysqld manually. That's where I got into trouble and had to mess with permissions, etc.
