Hi,

The ndb/storage files are present in the published source (mysql-5.7.19.tar.gz and github) for historic reasons, and are not used in any products. They were removed from the mysql-boost tarball because this is used by distros to create native MySQL packages, and the directory contains files that package quality tools such as lintian react to (e.g. pre-minified javascript).

The ndb files in the MySQL server source tarball should not be used, as they are outdated and unmaintained. Up-to-date ndb files can be found in the MySQL Cluster source, downloaded from https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/cluster/
