Description:
After installing MySQL on Windows, the MySQL Product Catalog will update its catalog every day.

These updates could be done in the background, but instead, they open up a command prompt window that steals focus away from the current active window.

This can cause a lot of issues, including losing data and just being a nuisance in general.

This issue has been referenced many times across the web. The common advice is to turn the updates off completely.

If this issue were fixed, then people could leave the updates on, which is probably for the best.

This issue has been present for years. Most programs by now have figured out how to open and update themselves without making themselves the active window. It's time for MySQL to do the same.

Here are some of the many threads talking about this problem:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/solved-taskeng-exe-keeps-popping-up-695113.htm...

https://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/156875-taskeng-exe-opening-command-...

How to repeat:
1. Run the MySQL installer

2. Install MySQL

3. Use a program

4. Wait until the taskeng.exe window pops up to do an update

Suggested fix:
Make the updates happen in the background, or make the command prompt not steal focus from the active window.
