Description:
Currently after Flushing or Purging MySQL logs nothing is getting logged in mysqld server(--log-error) log.

After executing such log rotation commands, MySQL server should add NOTE/WARNING for such events.

How to repeat:
Execute following,

mysql> flush logs

OR

mysqladmin -u <user> -p <pwd> flush-logs

OR

mysql> PURGE BINARY LOGS TO 'mysql-bin14.000121';

Nothing is getting logged in MySQL server log.

Suggested fix:
MySQL server should add NOTE/WARNING for Flushing or Purging log events.

Hi!

Thank you for your report. I do not see any bug in it, but this is a fully valid and justified feature request.

I also think that destination for logging of the command should be a general log.

Hence, verified as a feature request.

I would prefer as 'NOTE' in mysqld server log (--log-error), since Purging and flush activity for overall server and not more like client activity.
