Hi! Thank you for your report. I do not see any bug in it, but this is a fully valid and justified feature request. I also think that destination for logging of the command should be a general log. Hence, verified as a feature request.

I would prefer as 'NOTE' in mysqld server log (--log-error), since Purging and flush activity for overall server and not more like client activity.
