This installer package was already tested in Windows 2000
without present the problem mentioned.
Please verify the user privileges for to perform this
operation.

I use a domain account and that account has administrative privileges on the laptop. I successfully installed mysqld as a service using the noinstall zip file.

I'll be glad to answer any other questions you may have.
