i was forced to upgrade to sierra last night by my IT department. The 6.3.8 version i was using now does not allow me to execute queries in the system, so to continue working I have to upgrade to 6.3.9. Now this problem is even more problematic.

When is the next release that will fix this?

Fixed as of the upcoming MySQL Workbench 8.0.12 release, and here's the changelog entry:

When synchronizing a model with a database, none of the buttons for the
Select Changes to Apply step were visible.

Thank you for the bug report.
