Posted by developer: Fixed as of the upcoming MySQL Workbench 8.0.12 release, and here's the changelog entry: Each connection to an incompatible or nonstandard server opened a dialog box with a valid warning, but without an option to suppress the warning for subsequent connections. Thanks to Christian Hesse for the patch. Thank you for the bug report.
