Description:
Attempting to install on a clean machine, using default installation as a "Developer" configuration, the ODBC drivers fail to install. The specific error message in the log is as follows:

3: Error 1918.Error installing ODBC driver MySQL ODBC 5.3 ANSI Driver, ODBC error 13: The setup routines for the MySQL ODBC 5.3 ANSI Driver ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126: The specified module could not be found. (C:\Program Files\MySQL\Connector.ODBC 5.3\myodbc5S.dll).. Verify that the file MySQL ODBC 5.3 ANSI Driver exists and that you can access it.

I was unable to locate the indicated missing file anywhere on the machine, nor any file matching a myodbc*.dll search pattern.

Using MySQL Installer File Version: 1.4.17.0 (MySQLInstaller.exe) for installation.

Also got a similar error when attempting to install the 64bit windows drivers from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/. The 32 bit drivers from that page seem to install ok.

How to repeat:
On clean machine, run the MySQLInstaller.exe software.

Suggested fix:
Is myodbc5S.dll the correct file? Is it getting copied from the installation archive?

Please check if you have installed the prerequisites software installed mentioned in the manual: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector-odbc/en/connector-odbc-installation-binary-windows.html. Thanks.
