Description:
The mysql community server is essential to testing and development efforts and
the required packages, ready to be installed and run, do exist for Solaris 10
on both the SPARC and x86_64 architectures but only for MySQL 5.5.x and the
MySQL 5.6.x versions. Using the current Oracle SWIS ( Software in Silicon cloud )
service users are able to perform dev and test functions on a collection of new
hardware such as the SPARC M7. However software packages do not exist for MySQL
5.7.x on Solaris 10 and thus it is impossible to test software across both the
Solaris 10 operating system install base and the newer Solaris 11.3 systems.

How to repeat:
Mere see http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/ where MySQL for Solaris does not
exist for MySQL 5.7.x with Solaris 10 SPARC.

Suggested fix:
Merely apply the exact same compile environment that you have for MySQL 5.6.x on
the Solaris 10 environment to the MySQL 5.7.x source tree. Otherwise the users
are expected to get cmake and all the required dependencies and build the
software themselves.

Is there any reply or update here to indicate that the packages will be available?

Unfortunately, Solaris 10 is not a supported platform for MySQL 5.7, and there are no plans to produce packages. Please see:

So then Oracle and MySQL people therein are officially beginning to drop
support for Solaris 10. Seems to be the case.
