Is there any reply or update here to indicate that the packages will be available?

Unfortunately, Solaris 10 is not a supported platform for MySQL 5.7, and there are no plans to produce packages. Please see: http://www.mysql.com/support/supportedplatforms/database.html

So then Oracle and MySQL people therein are officially beginning to drop support for Solaris 10. Seems to be the case.
