Description:
MySQL workbench is super slow on my current computer to do easy taskts like writing a sql on the editor it freezes and hangs every two words I type or edit copy and paste.
Tried all work around from previous bugs reports and google it down to exhaustion and nothing. I suspect this is due to use Windows AD and all directories under my user folders are being synced via network (Sync Center).

I want to do a quick test

Is there a way I can change the Default Local Configuration Base File Path:
%AppData%\MySQL\Workbench\

to something like:
C:\MySQL\Workbench\

I guess then all the working files won't be in use by Sync Center and Workbench will be faster.

Please let me know.

How to repeat:
Have a windows AD user account shared in the network all users folders form the computer synced in real time.

Install Workbench 6.3.7 or lower.

Open workbench select any table limit 10. Try to write any SQL simple code like select variables or tables.

Hello Olavo Grego,

Thank you for your feedback.
You are using user data on network share (APPDIR=\\UKBEFS01\UserDocs\ogrego\AppData\Roaming\).
Please install WB locally without network share (only for testing) and let us know if you have any issue.

Thanks,
Chiranjeevi.

Is there a way to change the WB appdir folder ?

I don't have permissions to modify those shared directories. We have strict security for the notebooks on my company.

Hello Olavo Grego,

Thank you for your feedback.
Please try test same WB on other machine (even vm without user on "this" network share).

Thanks,
Chiranjeevi.

On my personal notebook that doesn't have shared directories and no sync it runs fast no hangs nor freezes.
