Description:
It's not possible create a MySQL data source in VS2015. It's possible to make a connection, access it by code.

But when trying to create a data source, when it comes to select the DB objects, it produces the error "Some updating commands could not be generated automatically. The database returned the following error: you have a usable connection already".

Using:
Windows 8.1
Visual Studio 2015 Community
MySQL for Visual Studio 1.2.6
Connector/Net 6.9.9

How to repeat:
Install VS2015 Community

Install MySQL for Visual Studio

Install MySQL Connector/Net

Create a new project

Select "Add a new data source"

Select "database", then "dataset"

Select a connection or create a new one (doesn't matter)

Select the tables from the database

Hit "Finish"

Suggested fix:
Fix this issue that says that the connection is already in use.

Hello Guilherme,

Thank you for the bug report.
Could you please provide repeatable test case (exact steps/sample project, MySQL version, create table statements/database etc. - please make it as private if you prefer) to confirm this issue at our end?

Thanks,
Chiranjeevi.

Hello Guilherme,

Thank you for the bug report.
Verified this behavior on Visual Studio 2013 (C#.Net), Connector/NET 6.9.9 and MySQL for Visual Studio 1.2.6 version.

Thanks,
Chiranjeevi.
