Description:
Ado.net connector has no user instructions and cannot be found through the ADO interface.

Delphi has only 2 ways to connect to MySQL
1/ through ODBC and dbxopenmysql50.dll (that is only Windows XP usable)
2/ through ADO, that can be seen as faster if we knew how and can setup a schema

At the moment no 32 bit Delphi programmer can use your database on windows 7 up.

I do not have the information from you people or from dbxopenmysql50.dll to update it as I run Delphi 7 and would like to use it.

How to repeat:
dbxopenmysql50.dll is only Windows XP usable, not windows 7,8,10 usable
as it only runs on MySQL 5.1

Suggested fix:
I understand you make your connectors connect through Localhost
If you want to support Delphi my advice

Make a new dbxopenmysql57.dll but future prof it that when MYSQL adds a new feature/datatype the new dbxopenmysql57.dll will simply hide it from Delphi and not crash.
I do not have the information from you people or from dbxopenmysql50.dll to update it as I run Delphi 7.

Hi J Lex,

Thanks for your interest in MySQL software.
Unfortunately, I do no quite understand everything in your request.
Can you please clarify a few things for me?

1. You mentioned dbxopenmysql50.dll a few times and even suggested that we should fix it or make a new one. For your information dbxopenmysql50.dll is not a MySQL product. It is a 3rd party DbExpress driver for MySQL Server. Our ODBC drivers DLLs are myodbc5a.dll and myodbc5w.dll. Have you tried using them?

2. A quote from your report: "I understand you make your connectors connect through Localhost". What do you mean by that? Our ODBC drivers can connect to MySQL Server not only through localhost, but TCP/IP, shared memory, named pipe etc.

If your request addresses non-MySQL products we cannot help you much. However, we will do everything possible to help you if you have problem with MyODBC drivers (the official MySQL ODBC drivers).

Please advise.
